With jaw dropping views down the valley over Bassenthwaite Lake and just a stones throw from Keswick, our site at Kestrel Lodge Campsite makes for an ideal location for exploring the Lake District and northern fells. A quiet, family run, family friendly campsite situated in a beautifully secluded corner of the National Park, a fantastic local pub within walking distance, superb scenery from the door of your yurt, a better location for your Lake District glamping holiday you will be hard pushed to find.
If you are in search of peace and tranquillity off the beaten track and away from the crowds then look no further, the Kestrel Lodge Campsite has all this and much more. Located just below Skiddaw in amongst the splendour of the northern fells and some of the best fell walking routes the Lake District has to offer. Tick nine Wainrights off without even getting in the car. Alternatively scan the skies for the family of Ospreys who live nearby or just sit back and enjoy being away from it all. What more could you ask for?
A little further afield but just 15 minutes drive away are the towns of Keswick and Cockermouth. Packed full of shops, cafes, restaurants and all manner of other attractions there’s certainly something here for everyone. The site also boasts close proximity to six of the county’s lakes, ideal for spot of wild swimming, beautiful picnic spots, photography or just an opportunity to site and enjoying being in nature. Back at the site if you can drag your self away from the crackle of the open fire there’s a great local pub a short walk away where you can enjoy good food and fine local ales.
Also available a short drive away are an array of outdoor activities. Why not try moonlit canoeing, stand up paddle boarding? Also available with our partners located in Keswick are all manner of Bushcraft experiences as well as some more traditional outdoor activities such as gorge scrambling, rock climbing or cycle hire.
