Windermere  – Lakeside

A spectacularly located site set site within the grounds of the YMCA Lakeside campsite on the quieter, western shores of Windermere, England’s largest lake. With stunning views across almost the entire length of the lake towards Ambleside and the fells beyond our Lakeside site has it all in spades. Each of our yurts here have stunning lake views and are a hop, skip and a splash away from a restorative early morning dip or make an ideal launch spot for a sunset paddle board adventure. A better way to start your day I doubt you will find. Offering a quiet retreat for families, friends and couples alike, Lakeside is a beautiful site with stunning 360 degree views from the door of your yurt.

A stones throw from the site are the beautiful Lakeland villages of Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside and Windermere all offering cosy cafes, traditional Lakeland pubs, restaurants and a range of independent and local shops to explore. In between are an array of hidden gems, secret spots and wild places to explore. The site also boasts close proximity to two of the county’s arguably most famous ‘lakes’ (Lake Windermere and Coniston Water), ideal for spot of wild swimming, beautiful picnic spots, photography or just an opportunity to sit and enjoy being in nature.

Also available a short drive away are an array of outdoor activities, bushcraft & survival experiences. Why not try canoeing, stand up paddle boarding or make a full day of it for a peddle and paddle adventure? Also available to book with your stay are all manner of bushcraft & survival experiences as well as some more traditional outdoor activities such as gorge scrambling and rock climbing. Back at the Yurt after a day out sit back, relax and enjoy the crackle of logs and the warmth of the wood burning stove, roast marsh mellows over the open fire and reconnect with the things that are important in your life.

The Lakeside site has five 18ft Yurts comfortably accommodating six persons per Yurt. A beautiful site proving a quiet retreat for families, friends and couples alike.
