The Flame
Full Day
The Flame is a full-day, in-depth fire lighting bushcraft course in the Lake District.
This hands-on bushcraft course is aiming at helping you master the fundamentals of fire lighting in the wild, including;
- Material selection
- Tool use
- Fire lays
- Modern and traditional methods
- Ember management
- Mastery of friction
- Importance of fire and using it as a tool-
- Fire management
- Principles of leave no trace including safely extinguishing and disposing of material
The knowledge gained during the course will significantly improve your fire lighting skills to keep yourself warm in the wilderness as well as to prepare food.
The instructor is a qualified Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor, and holds a raft of bushcraft qualifications as well as years of experience instructing outdoors. This means you are in the best hands when it comes to safely enjoying yourself while learning.
His personal and professional travels have taken him on expeditions to far flung destinations including;
- Borneo, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Ecuador, Morocco and Oman
The years spent on adventures have given him a breadth of experience in different environments as well as an anecdote or two!
