A stone’s throw from the deepest lake in England (Wastwater, at 258ft) and the jumping off point to climb England’s highest mountain (Scafell Pike, 978m). Stunning views from the door of the yurts lead up the valley rising up to the glorious mountains beyond. After a day of exploration and adventure, the Wool Pack Inn is right next door serving fine local ales, wood fired pizzas and array of delicious dishes to choose from.

Offering a superb base for exploring the quieter and wilder Western Lake District the Eskdale site really does have lots to offer. The fabulous West Lakes adventure is located next door and offers a variety of outdoor activities for all. Canoe the River Esk or paddle board on Wastwater. Book an exhilarating gorge scramble up the Esk Gorge, hire a bike and cycle up the Hardknott Pass (if you dare!) or go wild swimming in one of the many swimming holes in the River Esk. It also makes the perfect base for a variety of excursions further afield. Whether it’s a trip on the La’al Ratty (miniature train ride) down the Eskdale Valley to Ravenglass and the coast, a hike up Scafell Pike to get that long awaited tick, a wild swim in the beautiful River Esk, a plunge in England’s deepest Lake, it’s all here on the doorstep. Whatever you decide there will be a fine local ale, wood fired pizza or well earned three course meal waiting for you to enjoy next to the open fire in the Wool Pack Inn upon your return.
