Not sure what to do during your upcoming glamping break? Check out our top 5 tips for getting the most from your glamping holiday below…

Relax & Unwind in Style

We all need a bit of rest and relaxation sometimes. Our luxury yurts provide the perfect base for a relaxing digital detox in the Lake District. Switch off from social media and reconnect with your surroundings and your loved ones. Fill your days with calming activities – whether you enjoy getting stuck into a good book, heading out for a short stroll beside the lakes or trying your hand at some yoga, you are guaranteed to be spoilt for choice at our glorious glamping sites.

Our yurts are furnished to the highest possible standard with an exotic Moroccan feel, allowing you to feel totally at ease away from the stresses and pressures of daily life. Boasting Moroccan lanterns, colourful rugs, comfy seating and rustic furniture, our yurts are cosy and comfortable, whilst still being open and spacious. Our accommodation at Coniston and Windermere all feature show-stopping luxury hot tubs; after spending the day exploring the sights and sounds of the Lake District, you can enjoy a long pampering soak. Be sure to pack your swimming costume!

Sleep Blissfully

At the end of a long day, there’s nothing better than a good night’s sleep! Snuggle down in one of our yurts and drift off to sleep in ultimate comfort. Our yurts all feature a large central skylight for amazing stargazing opportunities. Tucked away in rural settings, away from busy urban life and the accompanying light pollution, you can see an awe-inspiring display of glistening stars and planets twinkling in the night sky from the comfort of your own yurt. What could be better?!

All our yurts contain comfortable futon style beds, which conveniently transform into cosy seating during the day. We provide all the bed linen you could possibly need, including cotton sheets and luxurious feather pillows and duvets. Regardless of the weather outside, you are guaranteed to stay warm and cosy in our yurts; the wood burning stove keeps the heat in and the cold out, ensuring you stay snuggly warm during those cold, bitter nights.

Alfresco Cooking & Dining

Cooking outdoors is one of the simple pleasures of camping. We provide everything you could possibly need to serve up a delicious alfresco dinner for all the family to enjoy. Our luxury yurts feature a wood burning stove with large hot plate, a two-ring stove with grill and a brazier style BBQ. Our 18ft yurts even contain an integrated oven! Cook up a range of BBQ favourites or try your hand at something a bit more challenging – we’ve even made Calzone pizzas on the brazier style BBQs!

If you’re stuck for ideas, we provide a range of tasty recipe ideas – all tried and tested by the Long Valley Yurts team. Start the day off the right way with one of our Swiss breakfasts, followed by our staple jerk chicken or bacon and parsley chowder for lunch. At the end of the day, try grilling some lovely lamb chops or lamb burgers; with a lemon cup cheesecake to finish. We’ve thought of it all!

Reconnect with Nature

Spend some time reconnecting with nature and each other during your glorious glamping holiday. Our sites are situated in the stunning Lake District National Park; home to England’s highest mountain (Scafell Pike) and deepest lake (Wastwater), with hundreds of miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore.

Whichever site you are staying at, there are several walks to enjoy right from our doorstep. Coniston is perfectly placed to hike up Scafell Pike, swim in the Coniston waters or enjoy a fun family day out at Muncaster Castle, whereas Ullswater is ideal for wild swimming – with the Aira force waterfalls and plenty of lakeside picnic spots nearby.

Keswick is located amongst the splendour of the northern fells and boasts spectacular views of Bassenthwaite Lake, with plenty of walks from the door. Our Windermere site is great for families with young children, with easy access to Whitbarrow Scar for 360 views across the whole of the Lakes. The possibilities are truly endless!

Enjoy Amazing Activities

Whether you prefer energetic outdoor activities or wandering around picturesque towns, there’s something for everyone at Long Valley Yurts! Try your hand at paddle boarding, gorge scrambling or rock climbing from our Windermere site; or swing from the trees at Go Ape or mountain bike in the Whinlatter Forest from our Keswick site.

We also offer an array of instructor-led outdoor activities for all you keen adventurers out there. From gorge scrambling to canoeing, as well as a wide range of bushcraft and survival courses, there’s something to suit all ages and abilities. We have recently teamed up with specialist outdoor activity instructors to offer a range of outdoor activities.
