Esk Gorge Walking
Full Day

Gorge Walking is a full-day outdoor activity and is the more ‘extreme’ version of Ghyll / Gorge Scrambling / Canyoning experience.

The word ‘Ghyll’ in Ghyll Scrambling is the Cumbrian word for mountain stream and the activity is often called Gorge Scrambling or Canyoning.

It is only natural to feel confused when you see the different names however, it is all about the same, fun-filled outdoor activity!

On an important note: The motto for this half-day outdoor activity is ‘the wetter the better’.

This full-day Gorge Walking trip will include;

-Rock climbing

-Scrambling

-Diving

-Swimming through a natural gorge

-Swimming in and out of waterfalls

-Reading the water

-Climbing up under waterfalls

-Practising to fight the current

-30ft jump into a pool

This full-day activity throws some challenges at you in the form of some really physical moments as you progress.

If you have a reasonable level of fitness, never tried this before and up for a challenge, it is a ‘must do’ outdoor activity when you are in the Lake District.

You will be exhausted and buzzing with adrenaline by the end of this experience but it will totally worth it.
